Support Project GRACE this Giving Tuesday!
Did you know that according to a study from the Center for Criminal Justice Research, part of the Indiana University Public Policy Initiative, even a 1% decrease in Marion County’s recidivism rate could save taxpayers $1.5 million?
Project GRACE (Guided Re-entry Assistance and Community Education) works with ex-offenders, helping to remove barriers to successful re-entry. Services include limiting access to criminal histories, restoring driving privileges, and assistance with bankruptcies, tax matters, child support and visitation issues. Project GRACE also operates a Pro Se Expungement Help Desk in the basement of the City-County Building, Room B2.
"Justice, Faith & Power: Stories from Neighbors with Criminal Records"
Ever wonder about the difficulties faced by someone with a criminal record who is trying to get their life back on track? As part of the 2017 Spirit & Place Festival the Clinic interviewed five different individuals exploring the challenges faced by returning citizens, as well as the power they can reclaim over their own lives through expungement and specialized driving privileges. We were grateful to partner with RecycleForce and Brookside Community Church for this event.
