In partnership with Washington Township Adult Education, Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic will be hosting Naturalization Day on
Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Naturalization Day aims to address a growing need in the Indianapolis immigrant community -- that of helping low-income Legal Permanent Residents apply for citizenship without the financial burden of hiring private legal assistance. Volunteering Saturday, March 4th, provides a chance to interact directly with clients in a meaningful way and be a part of one of the most significant life events of many immigrants' lives.
In the morning, Staff Attorney Rachel Van Tyle will deliver a briefing on how to properly complete Naturalization paperwork. In the afternoon, volunteers will help clients complete their Naturalization paperwork.
Volunteer opportunities are available for attorneys, interpreters (Burmese, Arabic, French, Spanish, Hakha Chin, Karen, Karenni), law students, and general volunteers.
