U Visa Clinic Day | 1 CLE | One-Day Volunteer Event

U Visa Day is an opportunity for low-income immigrant victims of crime to seek free assistance in applying for U Nonimmigrant Status. Clinic staff will provide training on the U Visa process, then volunteers will meet with clients directly to help them apply. Volunteer attorney representation will not extend beyond the day of the event.

Volunteer opportunities are available for attorneys, interpreters (Spanish), law students, and general volunteers.

About our presenters:

Annie Anderson graduated from Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2013. Upon graduating, Annie worked as a Deputy Prosecutor with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office. During her time there, she prosecuted and tried juvenile delinquency cases, criminal misdemeanors, DUI's, Level 6 and major felonies. In 2016, Annie joined the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic as a Staff Attorney for the Victim Justice Program. She primarily serves victims of domestic violence and other crimes in pursuing victim-based immigration relief, and she represents domestic violence survivors in family law matters as well.

Erica Harrigan spent a number of her growing-up years in Indiana and returned to the state to practice law after graduating from Regent University School of Law in 2015. Following graduation, Erica joined the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic as a staff attorney for the Victim Justice Program. Her practice is primarily focused on seeking immigration relief for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, but she also handles some family law matters for domestic violence survivors.
