Description: The intern will be supervised by Dee Dee Gowan, Staff Attorney and the LITC Director and must be fluent in English and Spanish. The intern will create tax educational materials and make the community aware of the resources provided by the Low Income Tax Payer Clinic though outreach presentations and more.
The goals of this program are to introduce an intern to the Tax/Low Income Taxpayer Clinic Program and provide a deeper understanding of the Clinic’s prophetic call to “Seek justice, defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. (Isaiah 1:17).
Qualifications: Undergraduate students fluent in both English and Spanish. Applicants with foreign language skills will be given preference and should feel comfortable translating and interpreting for presentations and client meetings.
