Tax/Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) Program

Description: The intern will promote community awareness of the resources provided by the Low Income Tax Payer Clinic by creating tax education materials, conducting outreach presentations, and more. The intern will be supervised by Dee Dee Gowan, LITC Director and must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
The goals of this program are to serve as an introduction to the Tax/Low Income Taxpayer Clinic Program and provide a deeper understanding of Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic’s prophetic call to “Seek justice, defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow” (Isaiah 1:17).
Qualifications: Undergraduate students fluent in both English and Spanish. Applicants should feel comfortable translating documents and interpreting for presentations and client meetings.
