Description:  Intern will work closely with supervising attorney to: (1) research the variety of civil legal issues facing homeless youth (ages 16-24), ex-offenders, and low-income consumers, (2) draft pleadings, memos, and correspondence related to these issues, and (3) communicate with clients and prospective clients to gather facts and information about their legal issues. Intern should have an interest in any or all of the following civil legal issues: driver’s license, expungement of criminal records, landlord-tenant, bankruptcy, and consumer law.

The goal of this internship is to introduce an intern to a variety of civil legal issues, develop legal skills and provide a deeper understanding of the Clinic’s prophetic call to “Seek justice, defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. (Isaiah 1:17).  

Qualifications:  Law students (1L, 2L or 3L).
