Description: The Housing Justice Program Legal Intern will assist with preparing client communications, drafting pleadings, and attending hearings. They will support landlord/tenant, foreclosure, and environmental cases. The Intern will be supervised by Chase Haller, Staff Attorney.
The goals of this program are to develop an intern’s legal skills, serve as an introduction to the Helping Hoosier Homeowner’s Program, and provide a deeper understanding of Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic’s prophetic call to “Seek justice, defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow” (Isaiah 1:17).
Qualifications: Law students (1L, 2L or 3L). Prior experience or coursework in the following areas of law is preferred but not required: foreclosure, landlord/tenant and consumer law.
