Description: The intern will be supervised by Margaret Knight, Staff Attorney and will assist with research legal and non legal, administrative tasks to include filing, sending client letters, and preparing asylum applications. Duties also include providing assistance with intakes, managing cases, and interacting with client.
The goal of this program is to introduce an intern to the Immigrant Justice Program, develop legal skills and provide a deeper understanding of the Clinic’s prophetic call to “Seek justice, defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. (Isaiah 1:17).
Qualifications: Law students (1L, 2L or 3L). Knowledge and fluency in Spanish is a plus. Ability to work independently is essential and prior experience or coursework in immigration is helpful but not required.
