Legal Intern #RV

Description: Legal interns will assist immigrant clients by preparing client correspondence, drafting motions and responses, and doing research for asylum cases. Interns may also assist with immigration court cases. The intern will be supervised by Rachel Van Tyle, Director of Immigrant Services.
The goals of this program are to develop an intern’s legal skills, serve as an introduction to the Immigrant Justice Program, and provide a deeper understanding of Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic’s prophetic call to “Seek justice, defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow” (Isaiah 1:17).
Qualifications: Law students (1L, 2L or 3L) able to work independently. Prior experience or coursework in immigration is preferred but not required. Knowledge and fluency in Spanish is a plus. Undergraduate students fluent in Spanish are also encouraged to apply.
