A Year of Abundance

Happy New Year! Above is a look back at the Clinic’s photo highlights from 2016–an abundant year filled with abundant life!

In partnership with Outreach, Inc., we launched our Homeless Youth Justice Program this year, which allows us to provide free legal services to one of Indianapolis’ most vulnerable, and often-underserved populations. We also expanded our Victim Justice Program thanks to a VOCA grant through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, helping us to better meet the great need in our community. And in 2016, the Immigrant Justice Program held a record number of one-day events to more efficiently process applications for Naturalizations, Refugee Adjustments, and U-Visas!

Last February and March, we enjoyed an exciting run in Brackets For Good, with our supporters raising $18,596 for free legal services in just two weeks! We're so happy that we're back in the competition for another year, and hope you'll be in our corner come the February 24th tip-off!

We also introduced our Courting Justice podcast in 2016. In each episode, our guests delve deeper into the issues that affect our clients, providing expert insight, answering legal questions, and correcting common misconceptions. This past year, the podcast featured topics ranging from refugees to working with victims of violent trauma. In anticipation of Tax Day, the first episode of our second season, due to be released in February, will focus on tax tips and ways to avoid common tax scams. Tweet us your questions @NCLegalClinic #CourtingJustice for a chance to have them answered in a future podcast!

And thanks to our generous supporters, our annual Justice For All Gala in October with speaker Bob Goff was the most successful yet, raising nearly $100,000! Hear the stories of the three clients we featured during the event by watching the Justice For All 2016 video now!

Thank you so much for journeying with us through 2016–we truly hope you’ll help us make 2017 an even better year! Check back in on Monday, January 9th, when Executive Director Chris Purnell ushers in the New Year with a special message introducing our new annual theme!

And, in the meantime, abide in the Lord!
