Chris Purnell

Christopher L. Purnell

Chris has served at the Clinic since September 2008, when he began working as a housing and consumer law Staff Attorney. He was promoted to Managing Attorney in 2010 and appointed Executive Director by the Board of Directors in February 2015. Chris and his wife, Christy, live in Indianapolis with their two young and always vivacious children.

Brian Dunkel

DIRECTOR OF LEGAL SERVICES

Brian N. Dunkel

Brian Dunkel has been the Clinic’s Director of Legal Services in 2015. In this role, he manages the Clinic’s programs and staff attorneys, oversees the Clinic’s efforts to provide excellent legal services to our clients, and maintains relationships with community partners and volunteer attorneys. From 2009 to 2015, he served as one of the Clinic’s staff attorneys, focused on bankruptcy, debt collection, driver's license, family law, expungement of criminal records, landlord-tenant, mortgage foreclosure, and other civil legal issues faced by the Clinic’s low-income clients.

DIRECTOR OF IMMIGRANT SERVICES

Rachel E. Van Tyle

Rachel Van Tyle was named Director of Immigrant services in 2017.  She manages the Victim Justice and Immigrant Justice program as they aim to provide high-quality, holistic services to our victim and immigrant neighbors.  Rachel has been on staff on the clinic as a staff attorney in the Immigrant Justice program since 2012 and focuses the majority of her practice on asylum, refugees, and other immigration issues.

    Jodie McClain

    DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

    Jodie D. McClain

    Jodie began her service at the Clinic in January 2008 as former Executive Director, Abby Kuzma’s Assistant.  From scheduling meetings, to audit prep, grant writing, paralegal support, accounting, marketing, event planning, HR, and Data & IT management, Jodie has taken on the role as Director of Operations by dabbling in just about every area of support work at the Clinic.  Jodie lives in Plainfield with her daughter Lydia, where they enjoy gardening, yoga, and going on hikes whenever possible.

    Cassandra Sanborn

    DIRECTOR OF ENGAGEMENT

    Cassandra Sanborn

    Cassandra has been working at the Clinic since August 2011.  After serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member for one year, Cassandra became the Clinic’s Grants Coordinator. She was promoted to become the Director of Engagement in April, 2015.
