In case you missed it, this March, we shared stories about the work done by our Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC), information on the biggest scams that threaten our clients, and helpful tips and resources for those who are facing tax-related issues.

On the blog this month, we introduced you to long-time LITC volunteer attorney Jim Foltz. We also learned more about the U.S. Tax Court and how our LITC serves those clients. On Instagram, we highlighted LITC Director Dee Dee Gowan and her amazing, 15-year service to the Clinic.

On social media, we introduced you to Carla, whose entire Social Security check was being taken by the IRS each month before she visited our office. We also shared the story of how our LITC was able to help a disabled widow named Connie resolve her tax issues.

This March, our very own Spanish Team Lead Katie Bailey was the inaugural winner of the United Way of Central Indiana Volunteer of the Year ELEVATE award! She manages a group of over 50 volunteers for our office and still helps with interpretation and translation when needed. Katie is the kind of volunteer organizations dream to have and we couldn't be more grateful for her generosity of spirit and her many skills, which she applies with vigor to every aspect of her work. Congratulations on this well-deserved award, Katie!

Check back this April, as we highlight our amazing team of volunteers, sharing stories of their most meaningful client interactions, exploring their reasons for giving back, and learning how volunteering nourishes them in turn.

And, as ever, thank you for your continued support!
