"Great is our Lord and abundant in strength;
His understanding is infinite." -- Psalm 147:5

This March, we highlighted our Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. We featured stories of our clients, volunteers, and staff; shared information on where to get free help with completing your taxes; and gave you important tips and updates on how to avoid common scams.

We also experienced the reality of the growing COVID-19 pandemic, and we shifted our operations to a telework model to continue serving our community. To learn more about how to access our services during this time, please visit our website.

On the blog this month, we made the exciting announcement of the appointment of our new Executive Director Amy Horton, who will begin her work with the Clinic on April 6. We shared a message from a staff member on his work with the LITC and we introduced you to a faithful LITC volunteer. On social media, we introduced you to Pearl, a disabled woman living on a fixed income. We also highlighted Sam and Lelani, an elderly couple seeking help with a large tax liability, and Peter, a homeless veteran who owed the IRS over $20K.

To keep up with changing laws and provisions related to hardships created by COVID-19, we are also sharing frequent updates and legal information. To access any of this information, simply follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) or visit our COVID-19 Resources page. We will also be launching a new Facebook Live Q&A series in English and Spanish on topics like housing, immigration, tax, family law, etc. starting on April 14. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more details on this upcoming series.

There is much outside of our control as we, collectively, experience this pandemic. But we still continue to pray.

We pray for our neighbors, for their safety and health. We pray for an alleviation of anxiety and for an abundance of goodwill towards one another. We pray for our leaders to make effective decisions. We pray for our co-workers and their families. We pray for those who are isolated, that they not feel so alone. We pray for everyone to receive the care and help they need, especially those who are the most vulnerable. We pray for a vaccine.

May the Lord grant us wisdom and peace and joy in the midst of the unknown. And may we all love each other well, even when we are afraid.

And please remember that if you need legal assistance, we are still working from our separate homes to fulfill our mission. Even in isolation, we are united with you by a common purpose: to love our neighbor. Thank you for walking alongside us.
