Refugee Adjustment Day (RAD) aims to address a growing need in the Indianapolis immigrant community -- that of helping refugees apply for permanent residency without the financial burden of hiring private attorneys. Volunteering this Saturday provides a chance to be part of one of the most significant milestones of many refugees' lives.
Rachel Van Tyle, Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic Director of Immigrant Services and Senior Staff Attorney, will deliver a presentation on how to appropriately complete forms I-485 and G-28.
Volunteer opportunities are available for general volunteers, attorneys and interpreters (Burmese, Arabic, French, Spanish, Hakha Chin, Karen, Karenni, Tigrinya, Amharic).
