The Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in partnership with Barnes and Thornburg, LLP presents Holistic Legal Services for Victims of Violent Crimes: The U Visa and Protective Orders

This presentation will provide an overview of the Indiana Civil Protection Order Act and how it can be used to increase the safety of survivors of domestic violence. This presentation will also provide a review of the basic pleadings and forms used in these cases. The U Visa presentation will focus on the U nonimmigrant application process made possible by the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act (VTVPA). We will discuss the requirements for the petition as well as an overview of the application process itself. 2 CLE credits. This presentation is available for Attorneys, Law Students, and Advocates.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS
Kelsey Raves graduated from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2013. Following graduation, Kelsey worked as a post-graduate law clerk for the Solicitor General in the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. In 2014, Kelsey joined the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic as a staff attorney for the Victim Justice Program. Kelsey is a registered family law mediator and her practice has been primarily focused on representing victims of domestic violence in family law cases.

Annie Anderson graduated from Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2013. Upon graduating, Annie worked as a Deputy Prosecutor with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office. During her time there, she prosecuted and tried juvenile delinquency cases, criminal misdemeanors, DUI's, Level 6 and major felonies. In 2016, Annie joined the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic as a Staff Attorney for the Victim Justice Program. She primarily serves victims of domestic violence and other crimes in pursuing victim-based immigration relief, and she represents domestic violence survivors in family law matters as well.

Erica Harrigan spent a number of her growing-up years in Indiana and returned to the state to practice law after graduating from Regent University School of Law in 2015. Following graduation, Erica joined the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic as a staff attorney for the Victim Justice Program. Her practice is primarily focused on seeking immigration relief for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, but she also handles some family law matters for domestic violence survivors.
