Naturalization Day | 1 CLE | One-Day Volunteer Event
Naturalization Day is an opportunity to assist immigrant neighbors in the naturalization process. We will provide a 1 hour CLE training for attorneys on how to appropriately complete immigration forms N-400 Application for Naturalization and I-912 Request for Fee Waiver. After this training, attorneys and other volunteers will be able to assist pro bono clients applying for U.S. citizenship.
Volunteer opportunities are available for attorneys, law students, Spanish interpreters, and general volunteers.
Naturalization Day | 1 CLE | One-Day Volunteer Event
Naturalization Day is an opportunity to help lawful permanent residents become citizens of the United States. Aimee Korolev, Directing Attorney at Indiana Legal Services' Immigrants' and Language Rights Center, will train volunteer attorneys on how to complete immigration form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Then, volunteer attorneys will meet directly with clients from partnering organizations to complete the application.

DACA Renewal Clinic Day
Until further notice U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has resumed accepting requests for deferred action under the DACA program. This is due to a recent court ruling about the program.
Individuals who were previously granted DACA, regardless of the date of expiration, are encouraged to come to the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic this Saturday, January 20th, between 10:00am and 3:00pm for our DACA Renewal Clinic Day, an event sponsored by Ice Miller, LLP. In this CLE, Rachel Van Tyle, Immigrant Justice Program staff attorney, will give an update regarding DACA, and present on Family Reunification, Asylum, Naturalization, Status Adjustments, SIJS, and Guardianship.

On September 5th, 2017 DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), a program that offered nearly 800,000 Dreamers protection from deportation and the ability to work lawfully in the United States, was rescinded. DACA Recipients whose STATUS will expire between now and March 5, 2018 will be able to renew their applications before October 5. This Clinic Day, we will assist eligible recipients in renewing their DACA status, help participants explore other possible immigration relief eligibility, and inform participants of the legal rights they have regardless of immigration status.
